Is Malaysia a democratic country?

Let’s look at our everyday lives; at matters we citizens would actually give two shits about.

There was The Malay Dilemma.

Then there was The New Malay Dilemma.

Recently, a movie was banned. Oddly, for once, it wasn’t the censorship board’s undoing.

And apparently, there’s something wrong with holding hands.

Now, bloggers might be getting a Big Brother.

Etc, etc.

The media likes blowing things up and the state likes covering things up.

Can we do anything about our state-controlled lives?
